Sproat Lake, Vancouver Island is a favoured location in the Alberni Valley for swimming, fishing, water skiing and when the wind is "up", wind surfing. Water-oriented recreationists love the warm and sunny lake and culture enthusiasts may enjoy a pleasant walk to the prehistoric petroglyphs directly across from the Fish and Duck Pub. You will also see some of the most spectacularly built homes around the lake.
So... don't forget your swim suit, in the summer, Sproat Lake is very warm. With more than 144 miles of shoreline and over 13 islands. DON'T forget your camera, during forest fire season, the gigantic Martin Mars Water Bombers use the lake for their runway as they thunder off to extinguish wild fires.
